MUSINGS ON RUBBER SOUL

MUSINGS ON RUBBER SOUL

Anya said Gary Brooker went up and actually talked to Jimmy Savile on T.O.T.P. last night - and he (Gary) was adorable. Alison and Anne also said he was. Wish I hadn't missed A Whiter Shade of Pale at Number One!

We got our Eng. Lit. marks today - I got 53% which is only an E. Anya got 48%, Tig 58% and Lucy 64%. Macbeth was my best question, though I thought it was my worst. I got 13/20, which is absolutely weedy.

At dinner break Anya and me went to our tree by the Canteen. I tried to do Geog. revision but it was impossible because Anya was being Youth Club Gerry. We bought ices.

Granny and Grandpa were there when we got home, with some friends for tea. I wore my pale blue dolly-rocker and bloomers which are FAB; the weather was so marvellous we sat out. Then listened to Rubber Soul. Gosh, the Beatles’ music has changed since then [Dec 1965]! I love 'Michelle' but I especially love 'Girl'.

I worked the whole evening on France, and really got the maps sorted out. Marked up the Aquitaine Basin, including Nérac where Polnareff was born. Listened to French radio at the same time, but my mouth kept on watering and I couldn't stop quivering (though slightly).

Had a sherry - it worked.
