Tig loved the Dance because she met an awfully nice boy - lucky thing. Lucy danced most of the time with a foul little weed shorter than herself. The others didn’t get a dance at all.

Took a pot of marmalade for Harvest Festival. I got B+ for my French compo - all about a ‘famille Polnareff’! Most people got a B or B-. For German did Friedrich II in the Lang. Lab. Honestly, his father used to beat him at the age of 18.

There’s a dance at Epsom College tonight, Pam says. I would have gone if Mark was still there.

Ma fetched us and we went into Pullinger’s with Anya and Anna Marie. I got a hymn book. Then, because I whispered, “hurry up, man!” to the weed serving us and he heard,  he was utterly poofy and said at the end, “Good-bye… Miss Boiss-e-vain”! Chump and Anna Maria are mad – they bought hair switches from Woolworths! Then we went along to this new boutique called Things, it's being opened tomorrow by Samantha Juste (ugh). They let us in but we only liked the leather ripply skirts - £4!!!

She says young people today insist on thinking for themselves - they are the ‘beautiful people’ and are non-violent anarchists who wouldn’t go to war if there was a war in Europe tomorrow. 

“But I have been worrying about the way they dress. It can’t be called a fashion because it’s old clothes, and it’s always depressing to wear clothes of the past.”

They asked her why fashion has virtually abolished the bust and she said that the bosom is a motherhood symbol - "in times of war, soldiers yearn back to the comforts of mothers and all that, and their pin-up girls all had big bosoms." Now that there's the pill, women are the sex in charge.

Fiddled around with my hair all evening. WISH IT WAS STRAIGHT.
